Stop iTunes from Automatically Opening

When you connect an Apple device almost all of the time iTunes will open up. This can be especially annoying if you are just wanting to connect the device to charge. iTunes can also be a very slow program depending on the specs of the computer you are working on and you may not want it opening/slowing down your computer.

 

Steps to Stop iTunes automatically Opening

1. Connect your device to the computer.
2. iTunes will open up. Select your device.
3. Under the Summary tab, there is a section for Option. Take the tick out of "Open iTunes when this (iPhone, iPod etc.) is connected.
4. Click apply at the bottom right of the program.

Now iTunes should no longer open when you connect this device. To test this, close iTunes and disconnect and reconnect your device.
