Reset a Belkin Router

Resetting your Belkin router is great if you want to restore it to the original factory settings. You may be giving it to a friend or moving so your settings are changed. It is often easier to just reset it back to the original factory settings if this is the case.


First you need to make sure you know all of your current settings and IP addresses. Everything will be lost when you reset your Belkin router. Unplug the router from your computer and using a long thin object like a paperclip press the reset button on the back of the router for 7 seconds. This will lights at the front flash to show the you have reset it.

If you want to make sure that this worked you can connect it back to your computer. Type in 192.168.2.1 in the address bar on your internet browser. This will show you all the settings and they will be back to the default settings if it worked.

You now need to add your settings back into the router when you want to get it going again.
