How to Uninstall Windows Live Messenger
Windows Live Messenger is automatically installed when Windows is which can make it hard to uninstall. Windows automatically hides Windows Live Messenger from the Add/Remove programs area although it is still possible to uninstall Windows Live Messenger. The best way to uninstall Windows Live Messenger is to use the steps below:
- Open the start menu and click Run.
- In the command box enter "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%INFmsmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove".
- Click the Ok button.
- Then it will ask you to restart your computer, click Yes.
- Let your computer restart. Windows Live Messenger will no longer be installed.
Instead of uninstalling Windows Live Messenger you can also disable Windows Live Messenger so it doesn't annoy you but still is installed on your computer. This means you are still able to use it at a later date if you wish.
