How to Delete Search History
Search history is a very important source of information; it shows all the websites you have recently visited and all the passwords used. All the downloaded files and opened documents also remain in history and, thus, can be traced. Deleting search history is of significant importance, especially if you do online transactions. It is a simple action that can protect you from hackers and unwanted visitors. Safety of your documents and accounts can be ensured this way.
How can you delete search history?
If you have Internet Explorer you can go to the left side and click on tools. There you can click on Internet Options and select the General Tab. Once you do that you can simply select clear history. In IE there are usually three options among which you can choose; when deleting search history you can also erase cookies and temporary files, or select which one of them you will delete. If you want to delete all of them you can simply select all three. It is also recommended to define the amount of days you want your history stored; there is a relevant button under the general tab that allows you to adjust and choose the length of days. The best thing you can do is to choose 0 days; in this case once the day changes search history will be automatically deleted. This is a very helpful tool, especially for those who forget deleting search history every day.
Delete Search History in Firefox
If you have Firefox you can go to Tools and then to Options. Choose Privacy and you will get a list with smaller buttons: history, cookies and data box are there. You can also choose the amount of days you want Firefox to store your history -- you can change it to zero as well. You can click the tabs next to history and cookies in order to clean them completely. Although history will be deleted -- if you selected zero days -- cookies are not automatically deleted, so it's good to do it every three days.
If you are working with Firefox remember to clean the Private Data section as well; you can check the box "Clear my data when I close Firefox'. This is also a very practical and useful choice, as you don't need to come back all the time to erase history, cookies and temporary files.
In any case, it is good to remember that even if all these functions are automated, you should occasionally check them and do them manually.
